2026 Bai-ltronic Music Workshop

In this two-day Bai-ltronic Music Workshop, children will embark as sonic explorers, blending the pulse of modern electronics with the ancient voice of Bai folk tradition. 

Through guided experimentation, we first discover the boundless possibilities of electronic music—its rhythms, textures, and evolving sounds. Then, we delve into the musical heritage of Shilong Village, encountering the passionate melodies of the dragon-headed Sanxian, the driving beats of the "Bawangbian," and the playful patterns of the octagonal drum. 

The journey culminates in a collaborative fusion project, where participants and instructor co-create and perform an original piece that weaves these sonic worlds together. 

This experience is more than a technical lesson—it is an immersive practice in cultural dialogue and innovative expression. No prior expertise is required, just curiosity and a collaborative spirit.
