Craig Evans, General Manager

Craig realized one of his lifelong dreams by moving to Asia in 1989. A former boss and mentor knew of this dream to move and live in Asia and offered him a senior management position with a hotel company in Hong Kong. The seed for this lifelong dream was nurtured by his father’s passion for Chinese Culture and Art.

Born and raised in the Chicago area, Craig was greatly influenced by his grandfather, at a young age, which impressed on him a life lesson that “we come into this world to serve and not be served.”

The hotel business has been Craig’s passion and full time career for over 44 years. It has taken him to 4 continents and 10 countries. He started in hotel sales and moved up to General Manager of 4 & 5 star hotels in many countries around the world. His philosophy, experience, and commitment to quality service was honed in such hotel companies as Hilton, Canadian Pacific Hotels, Trust House Forte Hotels, Inter-Continental Hotels in Asia, Super 8 Hotels in China and The Gyalthang Dzong Hotel in Shangri La.

During his time in Asia he took the time to obtain “International Certification” as a Certified Hospitality Administrator – CHA, Certified Hospitality Educator – CHE, and Certified Hospitality Sales Professional – CHSP from Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

His 24 years in Asia has provided him an insight and understanding of customers and staff along with honing his skills of teaching, training, and implementing enhanced service standards to Asians.

As the General Manager, supported by the incredible team, of the Linden-Centre we are dedicated to the philosophy and desire to “share the spontaneous hospitality extended to all visitors” of our expansive and luxurious courtyard home in this pristine village of Xizhou.
