Testing to trace heritage of Bai ethnic people

Shanghai American School teachers, Craig Taefel and Mai Haisam, and Fudan University’s Professor Yan recently completed the first round of testing to help trace the origins of our local villagers. This project, which is being supported in part by the Shanghai American students who have been making Xizhou their home-away-from-home, will help China better understand the ethnic origins of the Bai and Hui peoples. Chinese Central Television was here to film this unique project. We expect to share the results and initial evaluations in September of this year. Please stay tuned to learn more about this innovative project!
