The Linden Centre takes home the Travel + Leisure Global Vision Award
We are pleased to announce that Travel + Leisure has selected the Linden Centre as the recipient of the 2010 Global Vision award. For the past six years, this award recognizes the outstanding efforts of individuals and organizations that are working to preserve the world’s natural and man-made treasures.
The Linden Centre prides itself on the dedication and devotion to highlighting the local culture, and tradition of the Bai people. For the past 18 months the Linden Centre has been redefining what the tourism industry in China can and should be. With individual custom tours, or one of our outstanding themed packages, our guests leave with an indelible impression of the surrounding Yunnan countryside, and her people.
The Linden Centre was also chosen for this award to recognize our unprecedented access to a nationally recognized and protected heritage site. This would never have been accomplished without the cooperation of the local government.
Amongst the judges for the award are Nobel Laureate in Economics Joseph Stiglitz, Oscar award winning director Louie Psihoyos for his work in “The Cove”, and Bonnie Burnham, President of the World Monuments Fund.
